SAMUAL  WRIGHT

 

Son of Nathaniel Wright of London England, was Church Deacon in Springfield, Mass. in 1639 and in Northampton, Mass. in 1655. He married Margaret ? who died July 25, 1681.He died while asleep in his chair, October 17, 1665. He had a home lot in Northampton of four acres.

She died Oct. 16, 1660. He was born about 1620

and died September 25, 1683.

 

(-2-) Benjamin         Born… in 1627. Was in Northampton In 1968

                                    and died in Springfield, October 24, 1704.

 

(-3-) Samuel             Born… about 1629, was an engager

                                    of Northfield In 1671,

a settler in 1673 and killed by the Indians,

 Sept. 2, 1675. He married Elizabeth, daughter of

Henry Burt, Nov. 24, 1563.

 

(-4-) Hester                Born…about 1631. Married

                                     Samuel Marshfield, Feb. 18, 1651-2. 

 

(-5-) Margaret           Born…about 1633, and

                                      on Dec. 8, 1653, married Thomas Bancroft.

 

(-6-) Lydia,                   Born…about 1635 and married Oct. 23, 1654,

Lawrence Bliss. (-2-) Married John Norton Oct.

1678.  (-3-) Married John Lamb In 1688.

(-4-) MarriedGeorge Colton In 1692.

She died Feb.13, 1699.

 

(-7-) Mary                Born…about 1637.

 

(-8-) James              Born… about 1639, was a settler in Northampton

and took part in the Turner Falls fight, May19,

1676.  Was one of a committee of eleven

to make the final distribution of land to the

first settlers of Northampton.

This body appointed in 1698-9.

 

 

(-9-) Judah               Born…May 10, 1642. Settled in Northampton

                                    and married May. 8, 1667, Mercy, daughter of

Henry Burt, and sister to his brother Samuel's wife.

He married (-2-) July 11, 1706, Sarah, widow of

Richard Burk and daughter of Thos. Woodford. 

Judah’s oldest daughter Mercy, by his first

wife married Samuel Alle. Ethan Allen of

Ticonderoga fame, was their grandson.

Judah with others took the Freemans oath,

March 26, 1661. He died November 26, 14
