Chapter 13 The Big Picture

I wish to thank Art M. for his editorial assistance.

Saturday, September 9, 1978

Porter went into the S-2 compartment taking a break from his busy morning.  He got off at noon and planned on heading off by himself to do some serious soul searching.  Porter sat on a chair and started smoking a cigarette.  He noticed that Drew was sitting quietly reading a book.

'F*$7, Y8% Drew you $%* *76%678 &%$#.'  Porter thought the worst possible things about Drew that you could think about anyone.

"F*$7 Y8% too, Porter," said Drew.

"Hey, I'm just testing you! It's not personal. I think you're a good guy."

"Well you got your answer, are you happy now?"

"Not really, it's worse than I thought.  I don't mind being part of a new dispensation thing, but it's going to take some getting used to."

"Just go with the flow, Porter, you're good at that.  Things might be intense right now, but it will pass."

"Well it's been nice talking to you, even the non-verbal part."

"F*$7 Y8%, Porter!"
At 1200 hrs Porter went off duty until 1200 hrs on Monday.  He changed his clothes and headed off the ship by himself.  After the thirty-minute walk, Porter arrived at the bus stop.  The bus arrived and Porter got on.

'Mike taught me that people hear, see, and remember what they want to see and ignore all evidence that might prove them wrong.  Therefore, God has either chosen me to represent the son of man in some future day, or I'm believing my own BS, or I'm going insane.'  Porter noticed a reaction to his thoughts from the other riders on the bus.  Several people are looking at him and he thinks, 'they know too.  It's intimidating having your thoughts read.'

At the time the bus is nearing the top of the Coronado Bridge and Porter starts visualizing the bus crashing over the guardrail and falling towards the Bay below.  This set off quite a reaction as Porter could see fear on some faces, and the buzz of talk on the bus went away.   'Not only can they read me but I'm reading theirs too.'  Porter looked around the bus and he felt that he could read these people's minds just by looking at them.  He changed buses downtown and got on the
Ocean Beach bus.  That group of people were almost as lively as the previous group.

Porter got off the bus and aimlessly wandered around thinking about the fact that his life seemed to be an open book.  'The guys have to realize that I'm attracted to a few of them.  I'm surprised that no one has tried to kick my ass yet! I also find some girls attractive
too but there doesn't seem to be any around that will talk to me.'  Porter sees a guy he doesn't know walking towards him.  He's a young man but has long hair so Porter assumes he's not in the military.  "How's it going?" the young man asked.

"Not bad.   Just enjoying the day.  Does it ever rain here?"

"In the winter it does."

"I was wondering.  I've been here for four months and it hasn't rained yet."

"Can we cut through this low-level BS and talk? I know!"

"You do? Great! I was told that there would be those that knew, but I didn't expect to run into anyone this soon. I was just walking and thinking, trying to sort everything out."

"I think it's kind of cool, you have a great and powerful vision. We do know some things that you don't."

"Tell me, Tell Me, TELL ME," Porter said jokingly.  "Seriously, I do have a kind of piece of mind about this whole thing.  Heinz keeps telling me that God says I'm being obstinate.  It still freaks me out that a perfect stranger knows more about me than I do, but now that I think about it, it's kind of cool.  Now that I think about it, there has always been people around me that have known more about me than I knew myself.  The other night I saw a quick vision of something that happened to me when I was a small child.  My Mom took my sister and me to a meeting of her faith.  I was shown what had really happened on a spiritual level.  Mom took us to these meetings so she could show us off.  When I saw that, it really ticked me off!"

"Yeah I saw that one too. Your Dad realized what your Mom was up to and became real upset.  By the way, my name is Brain."

"Nice to meet you, Brian," Porter said extending his hand.  "My name is Bill."

Brian shook Bill's hand and smiled, "Yes, I know."

"It was weird, that whole vision took about a fraction of a second and then I was off on some other concept.  Now getting back to the original subject, tell me something about me I don't already know, and I'll say you're smart!  For example, why me?  Why does everyone around me seen to know my life story?"

"Because you have King David's birthright."

"What does that mean?"

"You'll find out someday.  You see Bill, you're kind of like Dorothy in OZ right now.  It does no good to give you answers.  Until you figure things out for yourself and get that confirmation, the information won't mean anything to you.  You are also stuck right between good and evil, with both sides messing with your head.  You're not going crazy.  I know you're on a roller coaster right now but you're going to make it.  God has something he wants you to do some day and you're going to do it."

"My guess is that someday I'm going to have to tell this story.  I should probably save everything, so I can write about it later.  I don't have to worry should I forget something as it's easy for God to remind me."

"That's a good idea.  It shows that you have both wisdom and insight."

"So why were you given this information?" Porter asked.

"Because I needed to know.  At this point everyone that needs to know, already knows. You needed someone to talk to today to confirm what you were told the other night. You're not stoned or doing any drugs right now. You have seen other strange things when you were sober the last few days. You need to know that the events of the last few days are well known.  People all over the world know.  I needed to know to give you more confirmation. What I really want to talk with you about is this vision of yours."

"Good 'cause I'm still kind of fuzzy on that," said Porter.  "At some time in the future this world this universe is going to be destroyed.  The Bible tells us that in the end it will be God that destroys the universe.  But not until man has just about destroyed himself.  God never ever destroys anything without raising up someone to warn the people.  My best guess is that I'm that man even though I can't see how I'll ever be able to perform on that level.  On the Level of a Man on a level or station of God's word.  I have to perform
as a Manifestation of the Word of God.  He said it, I do it.  So let it be written, so let it be done.  It will be a three and a half year martyr ministry at which time I'll be killed.  Three days later those who are a member of the Body of Christ will be taken to a new heaven.  There will be a new earth too and it will be two thousand years ago.  Then the Body of Christ will ascend into heaven at the same time Jesus ascended.

"This world, this universe is going to be destroyed.  God's going to create a new Universe and a new Earth just like the old one.  Then I'm going to have to perform the life of Jesus.  (This concept is something Porter is confused about.  It will take a number of years
before he discovers the true relationship with Jesus.)  With God whispering in my ear and the knowledge I have now, I'm sure I can pull that one off.  I wouldn't be tempted to sin because God is going to clean up my DNA, so I have no instinct for sin.  Of course God would have to supply the DNA.  It would also be reasonable to assume that God would want someone with comparable DNA for my Mother, so it's possible that he would use my sister Mary's DNA for my mother.  She would have to be conceived immaculately too.  I tell you, she fits the bill.  I don't think my sister has ever even said a bad word.

"Next, I see us learning everything we need to know in order to fix the world.  Then we will rejoin our bodies, for me sometime in 1963, and change the world.  I'll have the knowledge of two lifetimes and two thousand years of learning.  At some point everyone will gain knowledge of their pervious life and how they ended up spiritually.  They will then be given a choice as to whether or not they want to repeat the same mistakes.  This is the jigsaw puzzle I have in my head.  I still have a bunch of pieces I haven't found a place for yet."

"It sounds like you understand things well."

Porter spent several hours talking with Brain.  It did him a world of good to have that conversation even though he started out trying to get some time to himself.  It wouldn't be the last time a perfect stranger would open up with him about his God-given vision.

On the bus ride back to his ship he sensed that the whole bus was invading his thoughts. It was late Saturday night and the people on the bus were kind of rowdy. Porter tried to mess with them like he did in the afternoon by visualizing the bus going over the side of the guardrail. Suddenly, everyone on the bus started leaning one way and then the other. As they did this the bus started to sway. They got more and more into it and soon the bus was rocking. This scared Porter, as he was sure he was about to die. They stopped rocking and the bus finished crossing the bridge.

He got off of the bus before it got back to the base and went over to the little park next to the Bay. He wasn't there for more then a few minutes when his buddy, Art Heinz, showed up. "Well, Well, Well, I had a feeling I'd find you here, Porter."

"Hey Heinz, I'm kind of glad to see you. I still have some things I've been trying all day to work out. It seems that I'm developing some supernatural gifts. The first gift I noticed months ago but I really didn't understand it until the other night. When I need to know something it just pops into my head. I think I'll call this gift 'the mind of Christ.'"

"That sounds appropriate Porter, what else."

"Today was almost as weird as the other day.  Well - okay.  I'm exagerating, but it was strange.  First, I decided to mess with Drew. I thought some really bad things about him to see if he was reading my mind, and he picked up on it.  Then I was riding the bus to
Ocean Beach and I sensed people reading me.  So I messed with them like I did Drew and I got a response.  The second time I tried it on the way back they decided to mess with me back and started making the bus rock back and forth.  I thought we were going to topple over the bridge.  I seem to be able to read people just by looking at them.  I'll call this gift discernment!"

"Then I ran into someone at Ocean Beach that knew all about the other night!"

"That's great news for your head Porter."

"You got that right. I can never get enough confirmation."

"Perhaps that will help with this obstinate attitude you've had the last few days."

"Perhaps, but I wouldn't count on it."  Heinz had told Porter several times that his reaction to all the stuff that had happened the last few days was one of abstinence.  "I've been thinking and talking about 'the big picture' all day Heinz, and I think I've found a fit.  You remember when we were shown that all that ever lived are either here on earth or are going to be born until we reach the point when all that are involved in the eternity are here?"

"Sure, I remember that.  Something about getting everyone involved - including those that died hundreds of years ago, God wanting no souls lost."

"What I'm seeing is that those that are in Christ's past, present, and future being risen at the same time as Jesus.  So - if Peter and Paul ascended into heaven at the same time as Christ, they would be in two places at the same time.  We were also shown that this is possible and that they would have the benefit of two experiences.  So that means that they must be in three places."

"Now you're loosing me a little, Porter"

"I want to use Peter and Paul for my example because I have twin cousins named Peter and Paul.  Now what if my cousin Peter is the second life."  Porter was shown that those in Christ who lived and died, would need a second life in order to be a part of 'the big picture.'  They would get two experiences to draw upon in the final act.  "He'll have the knowledge of this world plus the knowledge of his life with Jesus and in the early church, plus what God has to teach us in heaven before we return.  Those are three experiences!  If this is true I should be able to discern King David, or Moses should I run into them they should be alive and on earth.  I've already discerned others that are dead around here.  You follow now, Heinz?"

"Most of it."

"You're right, there is still something I'm missing.  What if, I mean, what if the Holy Spirit is made up of the body of Christ? It fits; I mean the Holy Spirit manifested his power after the resurrection of the body of Christ! That could also explain the different language thing".

"That's some complicated stuff. It sounds like reincarnation."

"That's exactly what it is, Heinz.  I know that anything is possible if you have faith.  If you have faith in reincarnation, God surely has the power.  He can do whatever he wants.  I mean - it gets a whole lot more complicated in my mind.  I'm not sure I can even explain this one, but what happens to those that are born after the return of the body of Christ in the new earth?  I know God has the power to create or, in this case, recreate without sex.  When the body of Christ starts making changes in the new world, people that met in the first time line might not even meet.  Will their children go by the wayside?  Some might consider staying dumb in order to not have the memory of a child that will never return to them.  I have all this stuff swirling around in my head and I'm trying to plug it all into this jigsaw puzzle.  If one piece doesn't fit, I might have to throw the whole thing away.  I tell you, Heinz, I've been on a roll all day."

"There is another thing I've been thinking about.  I brought it up with the guy I ran into today.  Those that are killed at the end of the world will get a second chance.  With my vision, instead of going right to judgment, they'll end up getting a second chance to choose God's plan in the new world.  They'll have the knowledge of how their life ended up.  I see the whole world getting a second chance.  With a true knowledge, how can people not choose God?  How could they possibly choose to be destroyed again?  The God I'm seeing is far more forgiving than most religions make him out to be.  In this plan I can see how he doesn't want any souls to be lost.  I can also see at some point every knee bowing and every tongue confessing that Jesus Christ is Lord!"

"With as much as I've learned about myself and life in general in the last week, I realize that I'm really very stupid.  I have so much more to learn.  I'm right on the edge of being overwhelmed, Heinz. I think I'm going to have to sidetrack my mind for a few days and recover.  I'm working Monday through Thursday and I have fire fighter school coming up the 13th and 14th."

"I have some news for you too, Porter.  I've been assigned to mess duty for the next two months. They assigned me to the port watch of the bakery. That's the reason I came looking for you."

"Looks like you're working for me, Heinz.  You'll be counting those cuts in no time!"
