16. CONDUCT OF PERSONNEL. All personnel of Service School Command are directed to take appropriate action to combat any laxity that exists in military bearing and conduct. Specific attention is directed to the following. a. Salutes will be rendered to and returned by officers riding as passengers in official vehicles. On all occasions (except as noted below), of meeting or passing Warrant or Commissioned Officers, all personnel shall render a sharp salute. In addition, courtesy demands the return of a recruit's salute regardless of rank or rate. The salute shall be rendered at Colors by all personnel on the outside of buildings unless driving a vehicle, at which time they shall pull over to the right curb, stop and sit at attention. b. Conversation and/or activities with recruits except in line of duty is prohibited. |
