14. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES. Alcoholic beverages shall not be furnished, given, sold or caused to be sold, furnished or given to any person who, because of age, is prohibited by law from purchasing that beverage in civilian establishments in the local community. Persons under the age of 21 years shall not possess, purchase or consume wines or distilled spirits on board the Naval Training Center and shall not be employed as a bartender or in any other capacity involving the selling or dispensing of alcoholic beverages on board the Naval Training Center when such employment in civilian establishments in the local community is prohibited by law. Persons in the Naval Service, regardless of age, are authorized to purchase, possess and consume beer, provided the alcoholic content of the beer does not exceed 3.2 percent by weight. Purchase, possession and consumption shall be by the drink only. A drink is defined as a glass, pitcher or can. Under no circumstances shall persons under the age of 21 years remove alcoholic beverages from the confines of the Naval Training Center. a. INTOXICATED PERSONS. All persons who are intoxicated to such an extent as to create a disturbance or to make their being at large dangerous to their safety or to the safety of others, shall be placed under protective restraint. When the Duty Officer, or the Medical Officer considers it necessary for the well‑being of the intoxicated person, such person shall be admitted to the Center Dispensary in a misconduct status and placed under guard if necessary. b. The possession and use of wine, malt beverages and distilled spirits in BEQ is limited to personnel over 21 years of age in pay grade E‑5 and above assigned to rooms in CHARLIE WINGS of BEQ 90, 91. Regulations covering this use are posted in BEQ 90 and 91. c. Persons under the age of 21 years shall not possess, purchase or consume alcoholic beverages within Service School Command BEQs except as outlined in paragraph l4b and c above. |
