8. BEQ GENERAL REGULATIONS. a. WELCOME to the Naval Training Centers BEQs. We are always trying to improve the living conditions in and around the BEQ in which you live. If any damage occurs we would like you, as residents of the BEQ to report it to the BEQ Manager or Supervisor as soon as possible. By doing this, repairs can be made quickly and overall cost and work can be kept to a minimum. b. Cleanliness of the room and bunk area is the responsibility of the residents of each room and they will be held accountable as such. c. Cleaning gear can be checked out from the BEQ Manager. After working hours see the BEQ COD, he will issue your cleaning gear. d. Washers and dryers are located in all BEQs either in or next to the heads of each BEQ. They are furnished at no cost to you. All that you have to furnish is the soap and bleach and some consideration for the next man that may want to use them. Before using the machines, check for a clean washer, check the lint trap. Please do not leave your laundry in the machine overnight. e. Vending machines are placed in the BEQs by the Navy Exchange for your convenience. Do not abuse the machines and the priviledge of using them. If you should lose money or see that one is damaged, contact the BEQ Manager or call the Navy Exchange Vending Machine Office 222‑5672, Monday thru Friday. f. The television lounges in the BEQs are for your use. Care of the television should be the utmost concern of all who watch it. Some of the BEQs have pool tables which also need to be well cared for. Do not remove, exchange, replace or repair any of the furnishings in the BEQs unless you have first consulted the BEQ Manager. g. Secure the lights and the television when leaving the room and there is no one else‑in the room. h. Valuables should be locked up at all times and never leave your room unlocked when there is no one else in the room. If anything is missing or stolen from your room, report this to the BEQ Manager and Security Officer as soon as possible. i. Fire alarms are there for your safety. Any time that a fire alarm is heard It ‑must be considered the real thing, and acted upon as such. j. Nails or screws are not to be driven into the walls. All pictures, clocks, posters, etc., must be hung by adhesive hangers, and they must be contained in a wooden or metal frame. Ask the BEQ Manager when in doubt. k. Bunks must be made up as specified by your Department or BEQ Regulations and all trash containers must be emptied each morning before leaving the room. All rooms or bunk area should be ready and are subject to inspection each day. l. Loud and unnecessary noise is prohibited. This includes boisterous, profane, obscene language, loud radios, phonographs, tape players, and televisions. m. Pets are not authorized in the BEQs. n. Gambling is strictly prohibited in the BEQs. o. Unauthorized drugs, as defined by current Navy Regulations, shall not be used, possessed, or stored in the BEQs. p. Female guests are permitted only in the center lounge provided in the BEQs until 2100. Female guests are not permitted in dormitories, rooms, or compounds of any other NTC BEQ. q. Overnight guests are not permitted. No person, other than those assigned rooms or bunk area in the BEQ will be permitted to remain overnight in any portion of the BEQ. r. Waves BEQ (525 complex). There is a 15 minute time period for males to pick up their dates and leave the BEQ premises. This regulation is strictly enforced. s. Window screens shall not be removed unless for cleaning and then shall be replaced immediately. t. In the interest of preserving personal privacy, windows facing public thoroughfares will have blinds down at all times. U. Early morning calls. By registering in the morning call book Duty Section Personnel can receive an early morning wake up. The books are located in each BEQ. V. Bulletin boards are located in each BEQ. It should have the plan of the day and other items that may concern you while living in the BEQ. W. BEQ Baggage Storage. Contact the BEQ Manager for temporary storage. X. Fire alarms and extinguishers. Tampering or misuse of this government property is punishable under the UCMJ. y. Cooking in BEQs. The use of any type of cooking apparatus such as hot plates, electrical skillets, toasters, coffee pots, etc; tend to be unsanitary and can overload electrical circuits, creating fire hazards. For these reasons cooking in the BEQ rooms is not authorized. Z. Bedding. Personnel reporting aboard for duty or for duty under instruction are issued bedding and a receipt in writing will be maintained. Personal responsibility for bedding is vested in the individual to whom bedding is issued. Bedding will not be removed from BEQs for any reason except for scheduled airing, exchanging linen or when checking out. No article of bedding will be used for sun bathing. Upon the loss of bedding or linen, a report will be filed immediately at the Administrative Command's First Lieutenant's Office, Bldg 1. A report will also be made to Central Bedding, Bldg. 237. aa. BEQ registration and check‑in. After you have been assigned a room or bunk and locker in the BEQ, report to the BEQ OOD or Manager along with your BEQ registration card. You will be issued bedding and a key to your room. Linen will be issued in the BEQs only during the initial checkin. After that time linen can be obtained from Central Bedding, Bldg. 237, at prescribed times. bb. BEQ check‑out. The following procedures are to be used when checking out of the BEQs prior to transfer. (1) Go to building 237, and turn in your linen. (2) Report back to the BEQ with cleared bedding card. (3) Show the cleared bedding card to the BEQ Manager. He will inspect your room/bunk and locker for discrepancies. (4) If the room passes inspection, turn your key in, get the BEQ registration card and report to the transfer section, Bldg 202. cc. BERTHING. No person shall: (1) Sleep in any space or use any bunk or berth other than that assigned, except as may be authorized by proper authority. (2) Sleep or lie on any bunk or berth while clothed in dungarees or working clothes or while wearing shoes. (3) Remove any mattress from any bunk or place of stowage, or place such mattress on the deck or other place except as may be authorized by proper authority. (4) Fail to turn out of his/her bunk at reveille except when on the sick list or authorized to bunk late. (5) Lie down in a bunk occupied by another person. (6) Bring into or stow in BEQS: food, alcholic beverages, drugs, narcotics, firearms, knives of illegal manufacture or length, or any other dangerous weapon, except as may be authorized by the Commanding Officer. (7) Enter the BEQs during class hours except for emergency reasons. (8) Skylark, scuffle, or run in the BEQs at any time. (9) Leave lockers unlocked during any period of absence. |
